Dear Mattapoisett Shores Members:

It has been decided that the Labor Day Party should be cancelled for this year given the current threat of Eastern Equine Ensephalitis (EEE). Most of the local towns have closed public spaces and cancelled outdoor activities, given the seriousness of the threat.

Ginny Bailey, on whose property the event is held, contacted the Board and expressed her concern for Association members. The Board consulted among themselves and determined that she was correct, and the event should be cancelled.

We are sorry to have to convey this news since it is always good fun. However, the well being of community members is paramount, and we are convinced that it is the proper thing to do.
